We arrived home at 3:00am Sunday after an incredibly successful National Skills Competition! The medal results are as follows –

  • Jordan MacLean, Summerside, Silver Medalist – Workplace Safety
  • Dane Cutcliffe and Isaiah Jabbour, Charlottetown, Bronze Medalists – TV/Video Production
  • Stephen Simpson, Cornwall, Bronze Medalist – Automation and Control
  • Jacob Gallant, Hunter River, Bronze Medalist – Cabinetmaking
  • Josh Hay, Cornwall, Bronze Medalist – Architectural Technology & Design

We’re so proud of all the students, there were several 4th place finishes (with only 3 to 4 points between them and the gold medal). The students competed for an intense two days against the best in Canada. Here is a 7 minute clip to give you an idea of the scope of this event: Members of Team PEI can be spotted throughout the video in yellow! A huge thank you to the many College instructors, who worked tirelessly preparing both College students and mentoring high school students for this event, for the hours of work they put into hosting provincial competitions, and the many kilometres put on by those that helped chaperone the team in Toronto. To College management, for supporting Skills Canada PEI and believing in what we do – thank you. Congratulations to everyone involved, you should be very proud!
